What is eco-glamping and is it for me?
La Belle Cabane is amazing and we cannot wait for you to experience finding freedom in the forest.
The traditional "glamping" term comes from a combination between fancy/glamorous and camping. You're not tenting outside in a tent but you aren't in a hotel. We consider ourselves an eco-glamping site since we are off-grid and provide all of the opportunities for you to have a primitive experience while having the comforts of a warm wood stove, beautiful loft bedroom and well decorated tiny cabin.
It's for you if you want to disconnect. Spending time in the forest can do wonders. There are PLENTY things to do here and you will receive a wonderful curated digital guest welcome book when you confirm your reservation that will help you plan/enhance your trip.

We are so excited for you! #1 - A backpack! Cabins are only accessible by hike so be prepared! Also:
- Your phone/camera to remember your beautiful experience AND share them with us!
- A cooler/ice for your food. Be careful to leave food outside.
- Additional spices if you need anything other than salt/pepper.
- Your coffee additions (we only provide the tea/coffee) - no sugar/cream, etc.
- In summertime (especially May/June) bring bug spray or head nets!
- A positive attitude! Some of our solutions aren't perfect but they work perfectly! Challenge yourself if you're bored - why? If you're feeling lonely, draw/hike/journal/read - enjoy the downtime. We look forward to hearing about how you found freedom in the forest.
are you pet friendly?
Yes! But only because of wonderful story left by one of our 1st guests.
Dogs are allowed in 3 cabins with an additional one-time $35 fee and pre-approval required for all dogs over 65 pounds. Dogs must also be kept on leash at all times and not be left indoors unattended.
*We have 5 cabins on our site and three of them are pet friendly (The Bear, Elk and Turtle).

are you family friendly?
Absolutely! Please note - we only provide a double bed. Personally, if I were staying in the cabins I would be more comfortable if it were Cory and I and 1 infant/toddler. I feel like any more than that might feel crowded but we do welcome a family up to 4 individuals and have had families stay in the cabins with 2 adults and 2 younger kids (they brought their own bedding for the kids).
are you open year round?
Of course! The 5 cabins are naturally insulated with European Pine. The wood stove and floor insulation will keep you plenty warm.
how do we access the cabins?
You will not be able to drive to the cabins. The cabins are only accessible by hike (uphill). Cabin 1 is about a 5 minute walk and it can take about 15 minutes to access Cabin 5 (depending on your speed/gear). Be prepared - bring your backpack and proper footwear!
how many cabins do you have? ARE THEY THE SAME?
We have 5! The Coyote, The Eagle, The Bear, The Elk and The Turtle. They all have their own special little touches. The Coyote/Turtle are single door cabins (cozier private feel) and the other 3 are double doors which provide a wider view on the main floor of the cabin (to outside). Both are wonderful depending on your preference and the season. Due to this, the inside layout is a little different but very similar. The outside of each cabin is different. The most private ones are The Eagle and The Bear. The other 3 are still very private but can be seen at a far distance from the main trail.
are the cabins private?
Yes! They all have their own private sites/outhouses. If you are coming in a group - we recommend Cabin 1 Coyote/Cabin 2 Eagle or Cabin 4 Elk/Cabin 5 Turtle but either way they are all a nearby hike away regardless.
are the cabins sECURE?
Yes! The cabins themselves all lock by key - and a secured extra set of keys should there be an emergency.
Will i see any wildlife on the property?
A large variety of wildlife choose to call La Belle Cabane home. Year-round mammals such as red squirrels, racoons, partridge, grouse, groundhogs, porcupine, skunks, and hare live with us and raise their families here. Other mammals such as white-tailed deer, moose, black bear, bobcat, coyote have occasionally been spotted on the Kingston Peninsula. We also see anywhere from 10-25 different species of birds on the property annually. Many species of birds choose to live here all year such as blue jays, crows, barred owls, great blue heron, black capped chickadees, woodpeckers and many others.
Watching animals in their native habitat can be a memorable part of your visit at La Belle Cabane. For your safety and theirs, we ask that you abide by the following: keep your distance when observing wildlife, do not feed the wildlife, and keep your campsite clean and free of garbage while storing food in your cabin or animal-resistant food containers.

CAN I ASK YOU ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS/CABINS?
Anyone that knows us would say that we don't have a scarcity mindset in terms of business; we love entrepreneurship, business and personal growth and think that a tourism operated/glamping business is wonderful. That being said, in an effort to protect our time and energetic boundaries, here are our guidelines:
If you have business minded questions
If you have questions about our cabins
If you have business minded questions
- I, Tasha, have a background in business coaching/teaching or systems and this is something I love. If you're interested in discussing "how to set up a glamping site", marketing, social media tactics, sustainability or brainstorm your homestead related project or other please email us at admin@labellecabane.com. Cory is extremely skilled in everything else, HA! He provides the building, construction, off-grid expertise and is also available for consultations. We charge $250/hour for consults. Please note that as much as we like being transparent, we do not share the finite expense details of our business plan.
If you have questions about our cabins
- There are fantastic local/national/international companies that provide cabin kits. We encourage you to do your own research prior to contacting us. We truly believe that it needs to feel right for you and these cabins can be big projects, so its important that you choose something in line with your own values.
- We chose cabin kits from Sawmill Structures. If you're interested to connect with them - please chat to Chris at orders@sawmillstructures.com and let them know that Tasha/Cory from @labellecabane sent you.
DO YOU HOST INFLUENCERS?
We just might! Please fill out this form if you are interested.
